FIRST EMAIL 8/22/14

August 22nd, 2014

Whadddddduppppp Fammmmmmm,
it's so great here! Mom there's no need to worry about me, I'm having the time of my life. My companion is amazing, Elder Bean, and I told you a little about him but I'll tell you a little bit more about him. He is 18 years old from Spring, Texas and has seen Elder Wagner before!!! He said that he looked like a 24 year old missionary so I said, Yep thats Elder Wagner. He played basketball and football in high-school (interesting ;)) and in football he played safety. So we have a lot to talk about and even more things in common. A little about my district is that it is half elders and sisters heading to the Idaho Falls Mission and half of them are heading to the Houston East mission (Wag is in the North one) so then there's me. Interesting fact, I am the only elder in the ENTIRE MTC that is heading to an African mission. CRAZYYYY. the elders heading to Idaho falls are some of the most humble kids I have met before in my life, so it is really easy to get along with them. Also outside of my district there are 16 elders and sisters that are heading to Salt Lake East mission. I'll tell ya a little about the average day. I get up at 6, shower and make sure that my comp is up and going then we head off to class room study for like 8 hours with breaks for breakfast lunch and dinner. We are working on the the first three lessons, Plan of Salvation, restoration, doctrine of Christ ect. And i can already tell I'm getting more comfortable teaching and speaking in front of people. So we did that for the past 4 days, but I can tell you that there is no greater work than the one that I have the opportunity to be involved in right now. Just as Daniel said, The stone cut out of the mount will roll forth until it has reached all corners of the earth, even Johannesburg. on saturday but I had seen him everyday since Wednesday. I see Elder Houston with his comp every other day and I always give him a huge hug.
So to answer some of your questions, MY VISA IS FINALLY HERE! I've spent over 2 hours the past 3 days in the Travel office trying to find out it it is coming and what my travel plans are. Even though they are still working on my travel plans, I'm grateful that my visa is here. I talked to an elder that has been waiting in the MTC for his visa for 4 months :( poor guy. answering another question is my arm finally is coming back to normal. The first three days I had trouble putting my shirt on but I can move it now, so that's a miracle. IVE SEEN SO MANY PEOPLE I KNOW UP HERE!!!  Jake Anderson left to Samoa
Elder Finau is tearing it up here in the MTC and can actually speak a little of the language he is learning. and I also see Elder Bridger Thurston up here (Dad he is going to your old mission). But the funniest part is I see Sam Guymon who played basketball for Dixie last year and I always tell him "ball is life" because he had that seizure against Pine View last year. He's funny and always cracks seizure jokes so hes chill. I love the MTC and the gospel is true.
Talk to ya next week
Love, Elder B-Head.
