5/18/15 A LOT TO LEARN

Sawubona!
Drumroll please. . . . . . So after 5 days of wondering who I would be training I found out on Tuesday. I will be with Elder Sibanda from the great land of Zimbabwe! I can't say enough about this elder, although we have only been together for less than a week, I can say that there is not a more Christ like person on the earth.
As I have gotten to know him a little bit more he has an amazing story to tell. He and his family were all baptized together in Zimbabwe  around 2007. A couple years later, some tough times hit and he and his 4 brothers and sisters didn't not have enough money to complete elementary and high school. This is also when he and his family stopped coming to church, but an amazing thing happened. He started to teach himself and begin coming back to church. Things fell in place and he graduated school and got a job and supported his entire family. The tough decision for him was to serve a mission. To leave the job that supported his family and wholeheartedly serve the Lord. Needless to say he is here and I can say I haven't had a better example than this Elder. I may be training but I can see I have a lot to learn from him. There are great things happening in Rabie Ridge and June will be a big month for us. I so excited for what the next month will be bring for me and Elder Sibanda. So many miracle and blessings. Sorry my email is so short, I've been helping Elder Sibanda with some things and it's taken a little more of my time.
I gotta hurry and take off but hope we all can be a little more like Elder Sibanda this week!

5/11/15 Happy Mother's Day

Good Morning Fam!

It was great to see you all yesterday and crazy to think about the changes that will be happening in the next couple of months. It was amazing to see how families become more meaningful and just add to the desire to have other people enjoy the blessings of the restored gospel.

So I will be just giving you the big three this week of the amazing things that have happened this week. We continue to meet with one of our lady investigators.  Her friend introduced us to her, because they both have been looking for a church since their pastor left to Mozambique for another ministry. Anyways we began teaching her and inviting her to come closer to Christ and she told us that she felt as she attended church that this was the only true one! She will be put on date, we still have to work through some things for her. On the downside her friend thinks that we are possessed by devils and that the Book of Mormon is a spellbook. So I guess you win some and lose some :) We let her know that the only thing we do is invite people to come closer to Christ. She still insisted on telling us we are devils so we bore our testimonies and left her with a gospel of Jesus Christ pamphlet.

#2
Sam and Joyce- this is a mother and son who were confirmed as members last week. They both have completely changed there lives and are just a testimony to me of how much the gospel can change us if we let it. Our last lesson consisted of singing hymns and bearing all of our testimonies. The spirit there was indescribable.

#3 Baptism:  This is a lady that Elder Ainslie and I have been teaching since he got here and he said that he never would of thought that she would be baptized. She is a refferal from a recent convert family and they are absolutely awesome. She had some problems that she worked through as well and was amazing to see the light in her eyes. We sang many hymns at her baptism but the best was Battle Hymn of the Republic. We had the whole room swaying back and forth and singing windows were shaking that is how loud the people were singing it. Maybe a little southern Baptist influence I'm not sure but it is very entertaining!

Just a handful of miracles that have happened this week. Elder Ainslie will be transferred, that always hard but change is good. . . .and consistent.   I'll be getting a greenie, I'm sure he will be great  so stay tuned!
